Endless Trend : Hip Hop Fashion
Hip hop fashion trends aren’t a newbie to the fashion scene at all. In fact, this trend has been around from the 1980′s, when stars like Will Smith and Christopher “Kid” Reid presented youth how it must be carried out. Of course, hip hop fashion trends have advanced over the past 20 years as tastes and designs have changed to match with the culture of the time. The following will offer you a short but amazing history into the world of hip hop, with a few of the latest fashion style nowadays.
First Hip Hop
In the 1980′s, with the hip hop fashion vogue leading manufacturers became similar. With leather bomber jackets and dazzling – coloured track suits were sported with manufacturers such as Nike, Adidas and Clark shoes. The famous television show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire where Will Smith flaunted sports jerseys which were popular. Creating an image of richness and high-living in the hip hop culture of this time, when heavy gold jewellery and large sunglasses were introduced. MC Hammer and other rappers initiated hip hop fashion styles like baggy pants and baseball caps in the later part of this decade.
The Gangsta Look – Rugged and Vigorous
The gangsta style came in the 1900′s when the style of the Los Angeles Chicano gangsters came clearing hip hop fashion trends. In this fashion baggy pants were used with no belt and that too, very low, shirt tails swinging outside the pants and bandanas on the head. Brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Polo and Nautica came in vogue that the current younger generation want when designers offered apparel in the middle of this fashion craze. At this time names such as Mecca USA, Lugz and Rocawear came in the show as hip hop style emerged into urban streetwear.
Flash and Bling – Razzle and Dazzle
The turn of the century witnessed how hip hop fashion styles switch to fancy outfits and bling bling jewelry, made popular by the likes of Jay-Z and The Hot Boys. High end designers like Gucci arrived onto the hip hop world during this time as well. Nowadays, the hip hop style has toned down somewhat, with hip hop fashion styles that are more customized and professional – preppie hip hop, if you will. However, because the hip hop fashion styles are mostly accepted by younger generation, this style will always be top of the line and separate from the fashion mainstream. After over two decades on the fashion world, it appears that this trend is more than just a trend – it is a fashion symbol that is here to stay.
